STANDARD RENTALS
Q: How long is the standard dress rental period? | A: The standard dress rental period is five days.
Q: Is there a specific day my rental period can start? | A: No, your rental start date can be any day.
Q: On what day is my dress rental due for return? | A: Your dress rental is due by or on the fifth day of your rental.
EXTENDED RENTALS
Q: How long is the extended rental period? | A: The extended dress rental period is 10 days. The start date for an extended rental period can be any day and the return date will be by or on the 10th day. For example, if the start date is a Thursday, the return date will be by or on the second Saturday later.
HOW TO RENT
Q: How does the rental process work? | A: Follow the simple steps below!
Step 1. Browse our inventory of specially curated and already tailored dresses by clicking the "Shop Now" button. Pro tip: Filter by your dress size!
Step 2: Review the description and size + fit details of the dress to ensure it's right for you.
Step 3: Select your desired rental period on the calendar. You can either rent for 5 days (standard) or 10 days (extended). The price will reflect your selected rental period and pick-up option.
Step 5: Select Your Start Date.
Step 6: Select "Add to Cart" and then "View Your Cart."
Step 7. Click "Check Out" and confirm your method of delivery. The standard choice is Standard Shipping, but if you live in Los Angeles, we do offer Local Delivery for a small fee.
Step 8: Fill out the checkout and payment information; you'll receive a confirmation email with all your order details. Thx for renting with us!
HOW TO RETURN THE DRESS
Q: How do I return my dress by the end of the rental period? | A: You will be provided with a prepaid return label + envelope at the start of your rental period. Please use the label and envelope to mail us back your rental.
Q: Do I need to dry clean the dress before I return it? | A: No, no need to dry clean the dress before you return it! The cost of dry cleaning is included in the rental price.
TRY-ON A DRESS
Q: Can I try on a dress before renting it? | A: Yes! We'll be happy to schedule a complimentary "try-on session" for you prior to your rental start date. After you reserve a dress and complete the check-out process, please email hello@thxitsnotminela.com to schedule it!
Q: Where will I try on the dress? | A: You'll try on the dress at our headquarters in Santa Monica, CA. The exact address will be provided upon scheduling :)
RETURNS & EXCHANGES
Q: What happens if the dress I rented doesn't fit? | A: We do everything possible to ensure that our rentals are properly fitted for our clients.
If you have not had a complimentary "try-on session," you can return the item that does not fit within 24 hours of its arrival. Please note that items that have been worn will not be eligible for a refund. We cannot offer a refund after 24 hours have passed due to the nature of the dress rental marketplace.
If you had a "try-on session" before purchasing a rental and then decide it isn't quite right after purchase, unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund. Currently, we do not offer exchanges.
DAMAGES OR LOSSES
Q: Why do you charge a deposit upfront? | A: We require a deposit to protect both you and our dresses! Here's why:
Security for our inventory: Our dresses are professionally tailored designer pieces that represent a significant investment. The deposit ensures we can replace or repair any dress if needed.
Holds your reservation: Your deposit secures your dress for your event dates, so you don't have to worry about availability.
Covers potential issues: The deposit protects against damage, excessive cleaning needs, or late returns. In most cases, you'll receive your full deposit back when the dress is returned in good condition and on time.
Industry standard: This is standard practice across rental services - from car rentals to equipment rentals - to ensure responsible use of rented items.
Peace of mind: It actually protects you too! With a deposit system, we can maintain our high-quality inventory and continue offering beautiful, well-maintained dresses.
How it works: Your deposit is fully refundable when you return the dress clean, undamaged, and on time. We'll process the refund within 3-5 business days of receiving your return.
We keep our deposit amounts reasonable while ensuring we can continue providing you with gorgeous, perfectly-fitted dresses for every special occasion!
The deposit is typically a percentage of the retail value of the dress - this will be clearly stated before you complete your rental.
Q: What happens if I damage or lose a dress? | A: If you return an item damaged or not at all, you can be charged a partial or full value of the deposit. If the damage or loss exceeds the deposit value you may be liable.
